Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cornerstone For Life hand out birth control?
No, we are not a medical facility, nor do we perform any medical procedures. We do offer abdominal ultrasounds with appropriately trained and certified medical personnel. Currently available in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Do girls under 18 require parental consent for CFL services?
No, however, we do strongly encourage clients to seek family support, and we are always willing to help mediate those difficult discussions should the client want it.
Will any information or names ever be shared with anyone for any reason?
No. We do not even keep any records or files on clients. The intake/discussion worksheet is given to clients to keep after their session. Cornerstone For Life mentors only keep a log of hours, number of clients, test use, and if the client would like to share any prayer requests. The only exception is if we strongly believe a client may be in great physical risk of harm, or of harming someone else.
Are the people that work at Cornerstone For Life counselors?
No, we are volunteer mentors, having completed a minimum of 15 hours training. We work with CFL because we all have a passion for women, children, and we care and want to help people like you! Many of the volunteers at CFL have a personal story of their own, including teen pregnancy, post-abortion issues, and adoption.
Is Cornerstone For Life a "churchy place"?
No, we believe that none of us are perfect; we do not judge. We will give you information, resources, and a person who really cares to talk to you. We are here because we have a soft heart for mothers and children. We would love to pray with you/for you, but we will never "preach" at you!
